A Certified Professional Horticulturist, or CPH, is a unique individual who has voluntarily achieved the horticulture industry's most highly regarded professional certification. Since its inception in 1985, achieving the designation of Maryland CPH has required a combination of work and educational experience. Candidates for certification must further demonstrate proficiency in many aspects of horticulture and pass a rigorous industry-based exam, administered by the Maryland Department of Agriculture.
